The “Epiphany” celebration in Gythio. This is the “Blessing of the Water” tradition that takes place annually on January 6th in.
The priest throws a cross into the water, thus blessing it. People of the village jump in the cold water and compete to retrieve
the cross. The one who finds the cross will have good luck and heath for the entire year.
